Starline 6.5 Grendel Brass
Starline Brass takes pride in manufacturing the highest quality brass cases available. Their brass is made of 70% copper and 30% zinc and is drawn vertically during the manufacturing process, resulting in more uniform wall thickness. To ensure consistent metallurgy across all lots, cases are annealed between draws.
Each brass case is hand-inspected to ensure the highest possible quality.
Starline Brass has been in business for over 30 years and is located in Sedalia, MO. You will not be disappointed if you choose Starline for your next reloads. Brass is new and unprimed. This is not a loaded round. Before loading, bulk brass should be full-length sized, trimmed, and chamfered.
6.5 Grendel BrassBrass Preparation:
When purchasing bulk rifle brass, you may notice a few case mouths that are “out of round” or slightly dented below the shoulder. These flaws appear after the case mouth has been annealed during the final tumbling wash operation. Brass manufacturers are aware of the case cosmetics and have worked to mitigate them, but denting may still occur due to equipment design. Minor dents are typically removed during the first firing and have no bearing on case life or performance. On non-plated brass, you may notice that not all of the anneal stain has been polished off, giving the case neck a pinkish color. The case mouths of some smaller caliber cases may be slightly belled.
Straighten out the case and case mouth on all new rifle brass before chamfering and deburring the case mouth inside and out. Straighten the case mouth by inserting it partially into the sizer die and allowing the expander ball to straighten the brass. Make sure to lubricate the case neck inside the case mouth to keep it from stretching.
If you’re using nickel-plated brass, make sure to lubricate the cases before sizing them. Because nickel plating is harder than brass, sizing the cases requires more effort. If a case becomes stuck, buy a stuck case remover instead of pliers, screwdrivers, or other common household tools that could damage your sizing die.
