The Henry All-Weather Side Gate Lever Action Rifle is designed for those who value the more practical aspects of life. It’s a rifle for daily use in the truck, on the farm, and in the woods. The rifles have a satin hard chrome plating that is permanently bonded to the steel underneath and does not flake, chip, or peel, and has a corrosion resistance that exceeds that of some stainless steel. This not only increases surface hardness but also reduces friction on moving parts, allowing us to take our already smooth action to the next level. Because details matter, even the screws are stainless steel.

The rifle is made of stained hardwood with a carefully engineered coating that is designed to withstand wear, tear, scratches, moisture, temperature variations, and the angst of the various “character marks” that an everyday outdoor tool will inevitably pick up over time. This is the finish you want on a rifle that will be “rode hard and stored wet.”

In terms of profile and general dimensions, these two Henry offerings are virtually identical to their blued steel counterparts. The.30-30 has a 20″ round barrel, a straight-wrist stock, and a 5-shot magazine capacity, whereas the.45-70 has an 18.4″ round barrel, a pistol-grip stock, and a 4-shot magazine. Both rifles have adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights and brass bead front sights. Both receivers are drilled and tapped for a scope and include sling swivel studs and ventilated rubber recoil pads.

These rifles are outfitted with a side loading gate to make loading and keeping the magazine topped off as simple as possible. The magazine tube, however, remains removable for safe and easy unloading.
